Poem No. 1332 ( Tonite!! ) • Ugh, I hate when I write Tonite!! instead of Tonight!! • I don't mind it when other people do it • But I hate when I do it • I used to feel like the rules didn't apply to me • Now I feel like there are rules • That only apply to me • One of them is that I have to write 39 poems a week • Another is that I'm not allowed to spell the word tonight tonite • So I guess I should start over • 8/27/2024 • Poem No. 1333 (Tonight!! ) • Quest For Fire has played as a duo before: • Dogbowl and me doing King Missile and King Missile (Dog Fly Religion) songs • But tonight will be the first time that QFF has played as a quartet, with R.B. ( The Doctor ) Korbet on bass, and Susan Hwang on percussion • If only we had Marlon Cherry, or some other second percussionist, we would be King Missile (Dog Fly Religion) • Quest For Fire is fun because it's kind of a secret • There may not be many people who will come to the Bowery Electric by 7:30 tonight to see us play • So if you've ever wanted to see a band that is remarkably like King Missile (Dog Fly Religion) in a not very crowded club, then tonight might just be the night • 8/27/2024 • Poem No. 1334 (“The Timeless Realm”) • It can be difficult to be in the timeless realm • When one feels pressed for time • In yesterday’s morning meditation • I took an easy journey to other planets • But this morning it was challenging to not think about the packing • And how I have to go to the bank and get bank checks • And then come back here and do more packing • And then I have to actually buy the apartment • And then I have to come back here and do more packing • And then I have a Quest For Fire Show • And yet, with my mind cluttered with all of that reality • I still managed, within the 20 minutes • To find the time for some timelessness • I can’t believe I used to think meditation was boring • I mean, it’s not exactly exciting • But it’s not boring • 8/27/2024 • Poem No. 1335 (“About Timelessness”) • Where the light is flooded with darkness • And the darkness is filled with light • Where the silence is cacophonous • And turtles fly like pigs • Where the road leads everywhere and nowhere • And you can travel on the wings of your breath • Where sadness and happiness wrap around each other • Like a Little Debbie Swiss Roll • Where all and everything are none and nothing • And snowflakes turn into gerbils • Where the floorboards awaken from their slumber • And dance like broomsticks in Fantasia • Timelessness is everything you can imagine • And nothing you can expect • And the next time you are there • Could you say hello to my Uncle Morty? • I haven’t seen that bastard • In seven weeks • 8/27/2024 • Poem No. 1336 (“A Bit More About Her Cock”) • I know I have said her cock is true • And I’ll sing it out again tonight • But her cock can also be • A sweet talking liar • And the lies of her cock • Can inspire like the fires of hell • Or the spires of the castles of heaven • And her cock never tires • Her cock is a bird that eats out of your hand • But then bites the hand that feeds it • Her cock is a phoenix • That rises up out of the flames • And takes a licking, but keeps on fucking • Her cock is the walrus that was Saul • On the road to Dumb Ass Kiss • Before enlightenment obliterated all • By God, I say her cock is magic • And if you don’t believe in God or magic • Then you don’t have to believe • You don’t have to believe • In the truth of her cock • Or the lies of her cock • The choice is always yours • 8/27/2024 • Upcoming/Promo: • TODAY!!
