Students training aid for testing insulation resistance. Demonstration shows how an insulation resistance test could damage a USB socket outlet and how to overcome this. Test voltage is 500V DC and the minimum acceptable value according to BS 7671 is 1 megohms for the whole installation with further investigation when the reading falls below 2 megohms. • 🔔 Subscribe for more free electrical training videos https://youtube.com/c/GSHElectrical?s... • Note a 3 lead low earth fault loop impedance test will pickup if you have forgotten to reconnect either the line(s) or neutral(s) of the UBS socket outlet. • 🕕 Time Stamps - Cut to the action 🕕 • 00:00 - USB socket outlets • 00:24 - USB sockets contain electronic components • 01:21 - Connected USB socket • 01:52 - Test at 250 volts DC • 02:25 - Insulation resistance test between live conductors • 03:30 - Disconnect a live conductor (line or neutral) • 04:07 - USB socket in circuit • 04:43 - Testing at 250 volts DC • 06:42 - Disconnect the neutral • 07:34 - Insulation resistance test L/E N/E and L/N • Videos are training aids for City and Guilds (C and G) and EAL courses Level 1, 2, 3 plus AM2, AM2S and AM2E. • You can follow me day by day on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok lookout for GSH Electrical”. • ▶️ FACEBOOK / gshelectrical • ▶️ INSTAGRAM / brihzmraygdtmjmdb9lunqodmevqsbddki3qpq0 • ▶️ TWITTER / gsh_electrical • ▶️ TikTok https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRBLFdhe/ • #GSHElectrical #Electricaltrainingvideos #electricaltesting
