I would suggest that you get one that swivels in the wind. You can actually stand in one place and hang out all the clothes without taking a single step. Our umbrella clothesline is right at the corner of our deck so I don't have to get my feet wet in the morning dew while hanging out clothes. The lines from the house to the garage are only used for large sheets and coverlets. Try not to put clotheslines under or near trees which are frequented by birds.
