Spiderwort is a tall, graceful, beautiful flower with purple petals that open in the sunshine and close as evening descends. Yet they can quickly become invasive and if you leave any root bits behind they will quickly take hold and grow new plants. As I like to say, kill one and 10 come to the funeral. • It's always amazed me that spiderwort costs so much at nurseries because these are easily propagated plants and if you're not careful, they'll quickly consume all available space. • I'm growing a little leaf linden tree, an especially fragrant tree, and the spiderwort is encroaching all around the tree, along with a wild rose bush, rosa rugosa. In this video I show the spiderwort's mophead-like root system and how I'm tackling getting rid of this plant that I consider more weed than flower. • Share this video! • • Spiderwort: Flower or Invasive Pest • Subscribe to my channel for more great homesteading ideas • http://www.youtube.com/user/ruggedhom...
