Kuiseb River Flowing after a long drought

Water is the key to all life on this planet. After a very long drought, Namibia is receiving rains. Almost all the rivers in the country are flowing. You see, most of the time, most of the rivers in Namibia are just dry riverbeds, only flowing for a few days in a year. • Rumors about the river starting to come down started circulating on Facebook, and we went to check up on the river's progress on 16th January 2021. While it was flowing, it was too far inland, and we decided to try again on the 17th of January. • The weather in the riverbeds is always stunning, and the people are quite friendly. The people inhabiting the riverbanks belong to the #Aionin tribe, but they are better known as the Topnaar people, who have been living in this riverbed from before the Europeans arrived. • This short video shows how the water is slowly making it's progress to the ocean. It still has a long way to go, and as it is flowing the underground reservoirs are also being filled, so it's pretty tough going. • Everybody coming to see the river were quite happy and relaxed, and just enjoying the day! • #madewithkdenlive • #awesomechapters • #awesomenature
