She is selected by her mother to marry her second cousin, the Dauphin of France, Louis XVI, and seal an alliance between the two rival countries. However, their marriage will not go as planned, since Louis XVI doesn’t want to have intercourse with Marie-Antoinette. Thus, she can’t get pregnant, which is a problem.
