The #8000 is the finest stone in Suehiro's Cerax range, and also generally the finest we would go on either kitchen knives or woodworking tools. As long as coarser scratches have been removed properly at each stage of the sharpening process, the #8000 will give an excellent finish quickly. It isn't necessarily a polishing stone when worked wet, so if you really want to turn your tools into mirrors, remove the surface water and work it fairly dry. • The #8000 is a pleasure to work on - it is the hardest Cerax, easy to flatten, and once you've had a tool singing off the back of the #8000, it will call to you every time you go to sharpen a tool. • https://www.japanesetools.com.au/prod...
