This mid-sized family home is built from 5 shipping containers placed in an L-shaped layout side by side and stitched together to create 1,600 sqft of habitable space. The container walls were cut out to create adequate fenestrations for windows and doors openings to ensure adequate daylighting and cross ventilation, in response to Florida’s coastal climate. The container cargo doors in one of the containers is are welded in an open position covered with a small roof to create an entrance porch. Apart from the impressive exterior, the house is of the highest quality even on the inside.
