It's fascinating how Steven Wilson can develop a full 12 minute masterpiece out of a couple repeating guitar patterns. Top that off with Gavin Harrison on the drums and you get a perfectly written and produced song. I'm not keen on covering songs that are mostly improvised, since these often portray what the drummer was going through at the time and specially Gavin's playing is a ton improvisational. Tried my best to lay down my thoughts for the song while enjoying and playing it, but I can't say if I succeeded or not. You'll tell in the comments. Funny enough, the GoPro died mid song and I noticed only when editing, what a pity. Seized the black screen to comment on how the internet has made us all appear perfect on the screen, and we've got screens everywhere now! Our society is masking behind a facade of perfection that puts a lot of anxiety in us individuals. Enough rant. • I'm playing to the studio version, to which later the drums were removed using AI tool Moises. The drumset on this video is a Sonor Smart Force, 10 , 12 , 14 toms with Evans Hydraulic heads, 20 bass drum and a 14 snare with stock heads. All Zildjian S cymbals, 14 hihats, 16 and 18 crashes and 20 ride, 18 Zultan Aja china (Wuhan). Pearl Eliminator Redline double pedals. Microphones include 2x Shure SM 57 for the snare, Shure PG52 and Power Studio Vibe T1 overheads. Audio recorded in Reaper, lightly edited.
