Redback Spider Vs Stinging Centipede. So many people tell me a Centipede is the ultimate spider killer. It's a one on one battle, two critters enter and only one will leave alive. Considering the double ended weapons on the Centipede I think the Redback spider will have to do all her spider tricks to pull a victory. It's a heart stopping bug war that you will never forget. The Redback spider is the close cousin of the North American Black Widow spider. Video posted as educational, documentary, and scientific and forms part of my Redback Spider study series of videos. • The Redback spider (Latrodectus hasseltii) is a species of highly venomous deadly spider believed to originate in Australia, but now found from Southeast Asia to Australia and New Zealand, with colonies elsewhere. It is a member of the cosmopolitan genus Latrodectus, the widow spiders. The adult female is easily recognised by her spherical black body with a prominent red stripe on the upper side of her abdomen and an hourglass-shaped red/orange streak on the underside. The redback and its relatives in the genus Latrodectus are among the most dangerous spider genera, alongside funnel-web spiders (Atrax and Hadronyche), mouse spiders (Missulena), banana spiders (Phoneutria) and recluse spiders (Loxosceles). Venom is produced by holocrine glands in the spider's chelicerae (mouth parts). Venom accumulates in the lumen of the glands and passes through paired ducts into the spider's two hollow fangs. The venom of the redback spider is thought to be similar to that of the other Latrodectus spiders. • The giant centipede, is the largest Australasian and Asian centipede. Head and body length 7.5 to over 16 cm (6 1⁄4 in). The body is long and flattened. Coloration is dark or greenish-brown to orange or orange-yellow with black bands, with yellow legs and antennae; southern specimens tend to have blue or dark antennae. Ethmostigmus rubripes also have various subspecies which may explain the many colour forms of this species. The giant centipede has modified claws called forcipules which curve around its head and can deliver venom into its prey. The venom is toxic to both mammals and insects, but does not appear to be strong enough to kill large animals quickly. It can cause severe pain in humans which can last for several days but which can be relieved somewhat by the application of icepacks. Some people report intense pain , while others claim it is no worse than a wasp sting. There has been at least one reported death from the related centipede species Scolopendra subspinipes in which a young girl was bitten and died. • The original video was double demonetized by YouTube in their advertiser friendly crackdown. I was able to restore the video again after explaining how incorrect the manual review process is. I wasted my time trying to save the video only to find it struck down again without any chance for a second manual review. Google ignored my complaint about this failed process. Google seem not to care how destructive the failed manual review process is on producers on YouTube. • Leokimvideo is the home of the 'Big Spider Attacks' videos on youtube!
