This is a durability demonstration of a new heavy chopper design. The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the enhanced edge holding of a modified 3V heat treat. • This is CPM 3V at HRC 60.5, it is sharpened 20 DPS and the thickness is .034 behind the cutting edge. • Despite being reasonably thin with moderate bevel geometry it will tolerate extreme use, and with significantly less edge damage than can be achieved with the normal heat treat.
