Madonna’s “I’ll Be Gone” is a demo recorded in June 1997. It was written and produced by Madonna and Babyface. during the early sessions for what would become Ray Of Light. At that point, Madonna was envisioning an album that sounded closer to 1994’s Bedtime Stories, which also featured material from Babyface. Like “You’ll Stay”, the song was jettisoned when Madonna began collaborating with William Orbit pushing the album into a more electronic and atmospheric sound. “I’ll Be Gone” went unheard for 22 years until it leaked online in full on March 5, 2019. • #madonna #unreleasedmusic #madonnamusic
