Restoring a stream buffer

To rebuild this riparian buffer, we planted native water-loving trees and shrubs like swamp white oak (Quercus bicolor), pin oak (Quercus palustris), American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) and silky dogwoods (Cornus amomum). We will try to work with the township to stop them from mowing this buffer zone, which will allow for herbaceous plants to return.
