The Piezo LEGS are motors for high precision motion, with resolution down in the nanometer or even sub-nanometer range. In this video Dr. Mats Bexell (co-founder of PiezoMotor company) demonstrates the LTC40 motor in closed loop with a 5 nm encoder from Heidenhain. You will see the motor take fast and well controlled steps with length only 5 billionths of a meter (0.000000005 meter = 5 nanometer). It is doing this while lifting 20 N of load (~2 kg). Motor is rated to 40 N stall force. With the right driver and encoder setup you can get sub-namnometer resolution with this motor. • #piezomotor #technology
