Big correction: in the video I kept calling Aubert Villiane, Alain Villaine......sorry I somehow I got that name stuck in my mind but too lazy to re-do the entire video again so apologies to Mr. Villaine. • Domaine de Villaine is a Burgundy wine producer situated in Bouzeron in the Côte Chalonnaise region. This wine is from the 1er Cru region of Rully and made with 100% Chardonnay grapes. • Aubert de Villaine (who manages DRC) purchased the original eight hectares of this domaine in 1971. Since 2000, Aubert's nephew Pierre de Benoist has been the winemaker • The Chardonnay grapes from this Rully 1er Cru Les Margotés are left on the vine as long as possible so that the bunches reach a natural maturity of good quality. The grapes are harvested by hand, the bunches are then pressed, whole harvested, then the resulting juice is left to settle naturally, by gravity, before it is sown in barrels and wooden casks. The wine aged on lees for 18 months on lees and left to rest for a year before the wine is offered for sale. • Not an expensive wine but quality difficult to get considering the moderate price of the wine. • For more information please visit their website at https://www.de-villaine.com/
