Ubisoft is facing massive backlash for their decision to add NFTs to their games. • Ubisoft’s plan to add NFTs to their games with their new Ubisoft Quartz platform, starting with Ghost Recon today...but fans universally hate the move, with the video announcing it getting 95% dislikes on YouTube. With huge games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla potentially also in line for in-game NFTs, fans are outraged by the move, calling it a greedy, lazy money grab with no accountability or even protection for their players who use the blockchain network. • We’ve already seen huge issues with Cryptocurrency in the gaming space, with SaveTheKids and the black eye it gave FaZe Clan as a prime example, and now we have Ubisoft floating out in game cosmetics in Ghost Recon as NFTs despite saying they aren’t liable for risks or cyber security threats caused by buying them in the first place, and refusing to do refunds or cancel transactions. • So is this the greediest move in gaming history...or just a sign of what’s to come in the future?
