Bass School of Music in an empty lecture room. (We snuck in unnoticed. Seriously. It looked like the perfect place to film a Rachmaninoff video. And it wasn’t in use—at that moment.) • The Wanda L. Bass School of Music is part of Oklahoma City University. The campus is brilliant. But the weather is a bit too hot. • After hearing Evgeny Kissin play Prelude in G minor (Op. 23 No. 5), I decided the guitar should have a version. Kissin’s performance—which you can see here: • Evgeny Kissin plays Rachmaninoff-Prel... —is stunningly beautiful and inspiring. • I changed the key from G minor to A minor—it works better on guitar in A minor—but other than that, my transcription is very faithful (except for a few harmonics) to S.
