PSP Longplay 011 Darius Burst

http://www.longplays.org • • Played by: Tsunao • • The latest entry in the ships vs. robotic marine critters series. • As usual, I don't know much about the plot but who cares? It's all about the marine critters! • • There are a few changes from the previous Darius games. New to the game is the Burst Laser. It has 2 modes : A stationary laser that can be manipulated (manipulation depends on ship) and a big one, which is kinda like the Alpha Beam from G-Darius. THere is also a beam collision of sorts on this game. Kinda like G-Darius, minus the button mashing. I think beam collision is done by flying into a boss's beam (a sign will be given, like on G-Darius) and activate the beam. Beam goes golden, it becomes infinite as long as you stay in it, and you do big damage. Don't expect some G-Darius beam sh' (especially the quadruple beam counter). • • Gameplay thing: • Difficulty is on Normal and playing through Arcade Mode with Next (would've used Legend, but multi-missile sucks. Origin has no burst laser.). I don't bother with Burst Mode since I had enough of this game. Just throwing it out there: Burst Mode difficulty is stuck on Hard, all powerups maxed (and can switch between Missile, Laser, and Wave), and infinite Burst Laser (the gauge restores overtime). But...you only get one life and all powerup orbs are replaced with gray orbs (translation: no Blue orb for you.) • • I show all Zones since this game doesn't have a lot of stages (unlike the monsters that are Darius, Darius II, and Darius Gaiden. G-Darius MAY be up there.). That may explain why there are inconsistencies (Score and powerup). I No Miss Clear 2 bosses (Fatty Gluttons and Thousand Knives) but succumb to Dark Helios (a boss I have a lot of problems with) and Great Thing (who I have little to no problems with, and Great Thing is 9 times out of 10 the hardest boss in the series.) • • There is some slowdown, but it isn't that bad. • Oh, and friggin' Zuntata (and some other Japanese dude)!! • My picks: Hinder One (Iron Fossil boss music), Hello 31337 (Great Thing music), The World of Spirit (Zone H and I), and Shady (Zone K).
