Each of the levels was built within 12 hours or less, using a custom resource pack. Mappers were required to build grandiose maps with slaughter-focused gameplay. • It was created with the following rules*: • 12 Hour Mapping Time Limit; - OTEX; - Make maps 'grandiose'; - Arenas cannot be to olarge; - You must just hordes and quite a bit of them; - Keep the map under 40 minutes; - Limit RNG fights; - Explore the term SLAUGHTER • *After some time of submissions being open, discussions were had as to how closely we would stick to stricly enforcing this ruleset. As you'll find, some maps may take longer than 40 minutes, and some arenas are rather large. At the end of the day, I think these maps are a wonderfully diverse collection of unique takes on the gimmick of slaughter mapping. • Maps were designed for pistol start. Via MAPINFO, pistol starts are enforced on Zdoom based ports. Jumping and Crouching are enabled for some maps. Some maps will have visual errors if video mode is not set to HARDWARE ACCELERATED. The credits map is incomplete for Boom. • *MAP46 INFO* • Since I'm spending extra special time working on the level, I have a placeholder Coming Soon map to fill up the mapslot untill I finally get around to finsihing the map. It's there to reward the player for finding a rather well hidden secret exit on Map45. A strange nodebuilder problem I've had with slade has caused some levels (namely this one) to display incorrect information to the player, such as par times, sector sizes, monster counts etc. etc. To return to the standard map list there is a provided exit switch which will end the map. Apologies again that Map46 is taking so long. I should have it finished in a few days from initial release. • SPOILERS: Secret exits are on Map05, Map15, and Map27.
