I think I never said this before, but my piano skill in real life is worse than the piano covers I made. That is why I always make covers in Fl Studio instead of playing live and recording the MIDI down. However, I have been learning piano for the last two years or so, and this song is one of the first songs that came to mind when I started this journey. Nope, this video is still not a MIDI recording, but as a tribute to my incompetency 😭, I deliberately made this song to have that uneven feeling retained from the original version by turning off the snap-to-grid feature in FL Studio. • This cover is more of an experimental piece because I was trying to experiment with a new cover style and video. For the video, I am trying to find a way to feature both the piano and guitar into the video by changing the opacity of the guitar down to 50%. I added the chroma effect to remove the default black background of the exported video, but this unfortunately resulted in small artifacts on the black keys when they were pressed. Moreover, overlapping notes result in a rather weird display of the glow effect and hence harder to see. Generally, there is room for improvement in terms of editing for two instruments, but I am satisfied with this as the first attempt. • On to the cover itself: I started this piece to play around with the guitar VST that I have. However, because of my piano background, I was a bit struggle with making the guitar chords sound more authentic. Moreover, I think next time the amount of the guitar's high notes should be reduced because well... I don't think those high notes are suitable for guitar at all.
