The FREQUENCY function in Excel is a powerful tool for analyzing data distributions. It calculates how often values occur within a range of values, helping you understand the distribution of your data. Here's a brief guide on how to use it: • 1. **Prepare your data**: Ensure your data is organized in a column in Excel. • 2. **Determine your bins**: Decide on the intervals (bins) for your data. These are the ranges within which you want to count the occurrences. For example, if you're analyzing test scores, your bins might be 0-50, 51-100, 101-150, and so on. • 3. **Set up your worksheet**: Create a column for your bins and another for your frequency counts. • 4. **Write your FREQUENCY formula**: In a blank cell, type `=FREQUENCY(`, then select the range of data you want to analyze, followed by a comma. • 5. **Specify bins**: Select the range of cells containing your bin values (including the upper limit of the last bin). Press Enter. • 6. **Array enter the formula**: This is an important step. Instead of pressing Enter, press `Ctrl` + `Shift` + `Enter` (this is called array-entering).
