'The Beauty oif Amsterdam' is een fotoproject waaraan ik vijftien jaar heb gewerkt. De mooiste foto's zijn gebundeld in deze kalender waarmee ik acceptatie en waardering tot stand wil brengen tussen Amsterdam, de LHBTIQ+ gemeenschap en religie. Ik heb de hele stad afgestruind om foto's te kunnen maken van bijzondere momenten op doodgewone plekken in Amsterdam. Dus dit is geen geijkte kalender met gezellige kiekjes van het Rembrandtplein of andere toeristische plekken. Dit is een zeer progressieve kalender met enorme diepgang, zoals er nog geen een bestaat. Naast elke foto heb ik een bekende en/of verdiepende tekst uit de Bijbel gezet, en daarnaast heb ik alle gangbare feestdagen plus alle LHBTIQ+Van feestdagen vermeld. Dit alles in het Engels, zodat de kalender ook internationaal begrepen kan worden. Ik hoop dat dit de emancipatie bevordert van alle verschillende culturen, en dat religieuze gemeenschappen de LHBTIQ+ gemeenschap nou eens eindelijk gaan accepteren, én dat alle mensen die zichzelf hebben leren veroordelen vanwege hun anders zijn dat ook gaan doen! • Vorig jaar nog werd de kalender van 2024 die Liew-On gemaakt had, verboden bij een protestantse zwaar gereformeerde kerk. Dit omdat de maand augustus werd vertegenwoordigd door een foto met dragqueens met daarnaast de tekst: 'Gij zult niet oordelen'. Dus mailde ik hem naar een katholieke kerk. Daar vond men de kalender wel acceptabel, zolang de foto met de drags maar niet op de voorpagina stond. Die heb ik daarna onmiddellijk op de voorpagina gezet. • Het wordt tijd dat mensen gaan inzien dat God van AL zijn Kinderen houdt. Er staat ook niet in de Bijbel: heb uw naasten lief, behalve de leden van de LHBTIQ+ community. En de Bijbelboeken zijn niet alleen door geestelijk leiders samengesteld, maar ook door wereldlijke leiders, zogenaamd 'geïnspireerd door God'. Wat een onnoemlijk leed heeft deze doem-god veroorzaakt, zeg, door de eeuwen heen tot aan het heden toe. Nou, deze oordelende god bestaat niet. God is Liefde met een hoofdletter 'L'. Punt! • Een kalender kost 15 euro. Van elke verkochte kalender gaat 1 euro naar het Transhuis en 1 euro naar het Regenbooghuis. Want al Gods Kinderen hebben recht op een veilige haven. The most beautiful photos are bundled in this calendar with which I want to create acceptance and appreciation between Amsterdam, the LGBTIQ+ community and religion. I have scoured the entire city to take photos of special moments in ordinary places in Amsterdam. So this is not a standard calendar with pleasant snapshots of Rembrandtplein or other tourist spots. This is a very progressive calendar with enormous depth, the likes of which has never existed before. Next to each photo I have placed a well-known and/or in-depth text from the Bible, and I have also listed all common holidays plus all LGBTIQ+ holidays. All this in English, so that the calendar can also be understood internationally. I hope that this promotes the emancipation of all different cultures, and that religious communities will finally accept the LGBTIQ+ community, and that all people who have learned to condemn themselves because of their difference will do so too! • Just last year, the 2024 calendar that Liew-On had made was banned at a Protestant, heavily Reformed church. This is because the month of August was represented by a photo with drag queens with the text next to it: 'Thou shalt not judge'. So I emailed it to a Catholic church. There people found the calendar acceptable, as long as the photo with the drags was not on the front page. So I immediately put it on the front page. • It is time for people to realize that God loves ALL His Children. The Bible also does not say: love your neighbors, except for members of the LGBTIQ+ community. And the Bible books were compiled not only by spiritual leaders, but also by secular leaders, supposedly 'inspired by God'. What untold suffering has this god of doom caused, say, throughout the centuries up to the present. Well, this judging god doesn't exist. God is Love with a capital 'L'. End of story! • A calendar costs 15 euros. For every calendar sold, 1 euro goes to the Transhuis and 1 euro to the Regenbooghuis. Because all God's Children have the right to a safe haven.
