Known as the ‘Jewel of the Outback’ and ‘End of the Line’, It’s a great Outback town in Queensland’s South-West. • Our welcome to Quilpie was somewhat of a surprise, with the fabulous art works along the main street. We took the time to admire the cattle and horse silhouettes and sandstone sheep sculptures. But the best surprise (according to Michael) was the FREE high pressure car/truck wash down facility – perfect for a dirty car and caravan 😊 • We enjoyed learning about the history of the town! Everything from the old town bore, the rail line and proud military history. And our visit to Bald Top Lookout was worth the short drive out of town on an unsealed road. The ten-minute scramble to the summit over the magnificent boulder formations was relatively easy and we were amazed by the breathtaking panoramic landscape. • Our stay in Quilpie ticked all the boxes – busy and relaxing!
