The Flip camera started the craze, but it wasn't until a few years later that Sony stamped its lovable name all over the pocket MP4 camcorder parade. Flash forward to 2010, and Panasonic is first dipping its feet into the wading pool with the release of the Panasonic HM-TA1. But is Panasonic's attempt outdated? When you look at the latest all touch-screen full-HD Bloggie from Sony and the Flip SlideHD, it becomes apparent that the Panasonic HM-TA1 would have been a hit two or three years ago. Aside from its ability to record 1080p video and be used as a webcam, the Panasonic HM-TA1 is structurally and navigationally behind the times. But if your prime need is great full-HD video quality with an impressive low light performance, then the Panasonic HM-TA1 is certainly worth stacking up against its two foreboding intimidators.
