Why did the techniques in action applied by some of my students seem mechanical? • Because some of them were afraid that using tools and techniques in an intentional way in social interactions would alter their personalities. • This fear often comes from the belief that you will not be able to handle the growing responsibility, respect and power that will be bestowed upon you when you start being perceived as more empowered in social settings. More charismatic. • Because that is what the tools do; they show the world your most charismatic qualities, so people perceive you as more charismatic and treat you accordingly. • But understand this. Tools can not alter your personality without your conscious intention of altering it. • Don’t let limiting beliefs fool you into thinking that a toolkit has power over you. • Tools are at YOUR disposal, not the other way around. • My suggestion is, explore the tools in-depth before saying yay or nay. • Try them on like outfits to see if they fit.
