Part 1 of 2 in looking at themes of gender in Bionicle, here we take a look at female representation in the Bionicle story. It's kinda all over the place, since on the one hand it literally has the Smurfette Principle encoded in the lore, but on the other hand the female characters are well-rounded, complex, and defy gender stereotypes. So let's explore how women are represented in the story, both the good and bad. This is by far the longest video I've made so far, I honestly didn't think I'd have this much to say, but its a very interesting topic.
