Banning objects because idiots hurt themselves Rant Time

Do you think that a balisong knife or other item needs to be banned because people hurt themselves with it? If so, do you also think that power tools, hammers and kitchen knives need a ban because there have been plenty of injuries involving those? • Some people have told me that balisongs (butterfly knives) should be illegal because they attract kids who then play around with them and endager themselves and others. Apparently these individuals have no noticed that selling knives to minors is already illegal, or at least restricted. • Guess what? If children play with knives, that is a PARENTING issue. It does not justify punishing the responsible, law-abiding owners of such items. • If politics involved more rational thinking and less emotionally charged rhetoric and fear mongering, society would be much better off.
