Lumpiniee Stadium Hemmers Family Dynasty • The Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, also known as Lumpini, is the most prestigious Muay Thai Stadium in the world. • 33 years ago, I was for the first time in Thailand fighting with my son Ramon Dekkers in this famous stadium. My other son Nick Hemmers, born out of my marriage with Ramon's mother, was about 1 year old by then. • Now, 33 years later, Nick (brother of Ramon) is grown up and also in the business as a well-known and famous successful trainer. It happened on 5 August that Nick was also entering the prestigious (new) Lumpini stadium in Bangkok with his own fighter Marat Grigorian. • For us, a historical moment returned, and hopefully, a decade of new fights in Thailand will follow for the Hemmers gym. Thailand is the cradle of the sport. • Although Marat Grigorian had to give the fight away on points, he was the stronger fighter in the end. Unfortunately, the result on points counts, but the trend is set again.
