D'Addario Chromes Flatwound bass strings - https://www.zzounds.com/a--3971116/it... • For business, lessons, questions - / alexpricemusician • Today I haggled with a local pawn shop and made away with a Fender Active Precision Special bass for a mere $360. For my own interest, I made a back to back comparison between a set of D'addario Chromes (flatwound) and a set of Ernie Ball Slinky (roundwound) strings. The bass was recorded direct-in to a Focusrite Saffire 6 interface. I used some amp modeling in Logix to help create a more realistic sound. • Guitar specifications: • The Deluxe Series Active Precision Bass Special features active electronics, a nice gold pickguard, and both a split-coil Precision-style pickup and a Jazz-style Vintage Noiseless bridge pickup. The electronics include a passive volume control, a passive blend control, a split knob with active mid and bass boost/cut, and a regular passive tone control. The bass in this video is the 2008 version.
