A great place to bike, run, walk or rollerblade a top Seminole County Rail-Trail that makes use of a former rail corridor from the old Orange Belt Railway, the Seminole Wekiva Trail links Altamonte Springs, Longwood, and Lake Mary, going past residential and suburban areas, businesses, shops and restaurants. • The Seminole Wekiva Trail is probably one of the most famous and favored trails in Central Florida. With 14 miles of smooth, paved trail in Altamonte Springs, Florida. This nature filled trail takes you north through Seminole County and connects you with several different parks, wildlife and urban areas. • This is one of the most popular shaded trails, with beautiful landscaping and the natural tree line of agriculture. Bring your friends or loved ones as the trail is wide and allows for multiple people to ride and run without blocking the way. With 3 trailheads along the trail you can take a custom stroll for whatever length you desire. • One of the coolest things to experience is road underpasses. Most urban trails involve crossing dangerous intersections or a tall bridge that most people have a challenging time with. With the Seminole Wekiva Trail you are able to use an underpass to cross State Road 434 and Lake Mary Blvd, which is extremely helpful. For riders on the trail at night you are able to use the sidewalk to bypass the underpass, just be sure you have the proper lighting on your bike or flashlight if you are walking. • Trailheads/rest areas with parking, restrooms and water fountains are available along the trail. Always be sure to check out the trail map and mile marker signs, it’s important to be conscious of this so you don’t get lost. With all of the trailheads it's easy to tailor your outing to whatever distance you need. However, there are helpful signs all over the place.
