I wrote the song lyrics for a BBC4 musical documentary exploring one family’s journey to Leicester following the Ugandan Asian expulsion in 1972. Ten members of the Thakrar family came to the UK and they’ve now grown into a family of 90, spanning three generations. The old and young sing about the family's story, the changes between each generation and the lives they lead now. • A Century Films production directed by Brian Hill, My Asian Family - The Musical aired on 22nd Aug 2018 as part of the BBC’s Big British Asian Summer season.
