St. Croix Imperial USA • This fast action rod starts at around $290 on Amazon and it comes in 7 foot 6 inches, an 8 foot, an 8 foot 6 inch, and 9-foot models. We really wish there was a 10-foot option, but that’s not the case with this one. • • 2. Sage X • The X is Sage’s premium multi-application freshwater rod and coming in at $900 it’s not a cheap rod. • All blanks within the range are built making use for their latest Konnetic HD technology. This advanced material’s power to weight ratio is impressive. Making use of the same material, Sage can fine-tune different styles of rods. • • 3. Echo Dry • It’s refreshing to see that Echo is building good value for money rods that aren’t necessarily designed to be ultra-fast. The Echo Dry comes in at around $230 with a lifetime warranty and is directed at the truer style of dry fly fishing. • Tim Rajeff optimized the Echo Dry 4 Weight Fly Rod for casts between 25 and 50 feet. • 4. Epic 476 FastGlass • The 4 weight is our favorite rod in the Epic FastGlass range. • When you pick the rod up with about 20 feet of fly line out of the tip and make one back cast and feel the forward cast – you just know it’s a great trout rod. • This is a fiberglass rod, but it’s not the same material and feel like the glass of yesteryear. • 5. Orvis Clearwater • Orvis released its new Orvis Clearwater fly rod at the beginning of 2019. With many rods within this range, it offers outstanding value for money. • They redesigned every single rod in the range, ensuring that each rod is optimized for its intended purpose. • For a trout angler, a 4 weight rod is an indispensable tool. • The rods in this video are some of the leading 4 weight fly fishing rods on the market today. • Whether you are a beginner, a die-hard dry fly fisherman or an expert nympher, there will be a rod in this video for you. • What is your favorite rod in the 4 weight category?
