Crowfall MMO is Shutting Down

Crowfall, another indy MMO that launched back in July of 2021, has announced they will be shutting down the servers on November 22nd 2022 and attempting to rethink as they put it, the MMO. Crowfall didn't hit the numbers they were hoping for and certainly had a population issue not far after launch. Crowfall was also very dependent on PvP as it's main source of content and without an active and healthy playerbase, Crowfall struggled to survive and the players that stayed loyal just simply couldn't participate in PvP to the extent of what the MMO was built to be. Crowfall tried a freemium option, but unfortunately, it didn't work out and now, they have decided to bring down the server in hopes that they can rework the game and relaunch with more success. Today I'll be giving my opinion as well as stating what we know, exactly what is happening to players, and the full scope of the plan and what it means for everybody, so stick with me to the end and let's talk about this MMO, Crowfall, and what will become of it in the future. • Let's take a moment to look at some of the common complaints about Crowfall so we can think about what Crowfall may become while they go back into development. As an MMO, Crowfall had many who though it's combat system was dull, the animations were too rough and didn't like the spell effects, the end game progression and generally didn't enjoy the leveling up process which was basically just a really long tutorial but also a really short journey that was a tutorial. The tutorial to level all the way up bit is what made me know that Crowfall just wasn't the MMO for me. I, and many others need a journey that feels meaninful and fun, and then the meat of the game can serve as an endgame for many many years. We should feel proud of getting to max level. Now there are so many ways a developer can tackle this, and I'm not asking for a long, boring leveling up campaign, but it needs to have some weight to it so that players get invested in their MMO avatar. Investment and that feeling of connection comes from adventures, from barely surviving at times, from moments of victory when there should have been a defeat. Some would argue that this can all be achieved in Crowfall's PvP and getting to endgame as soon as possible wasn't the issue, but many reviews and many impressions seem to tell a different story. • I do think Crowfall will likely try to do some dungeons and quest content and flesh out PvE a bit after taking down the servers and redesigning the game. This is the same issue New World ran into and Amazon is just now getting that taken care of and that's with a massive budget. I also do believe they will change the combat system to some degree and likely try to make the spells and animations more appealing. And most likely, the endgame progression will be altered and fleshed out. • Get Swag and Help Support the Channel by Checking out the Loot Store for the Channel Here: https://the-nathan-napalm-loot-store-... • Become a MEMBER of the channel today by clicking this link and JOINING up!!    / @thenathannapalm   • #mmorpg #mmo #mmonews
