Film on the Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR1 aircraft. The film begins with scenes of the 1969 Daily Mail trans-Atlantic air race, during which a Harrier set a new speed record between London and New York. • A Harrier is shown landing at St Pancras station in London, and another refuelling over the Atlantic from a Victor tanker aircraft before arriving in New York. Following the race the aircraft made a demonstration tour of the United States, including a visit to Washington DC and to the US Navy's command and communication ship USS La Salle (AGF3).
