Few things of the Second World War are more intimidating than the iconic German Bunker. Made out of reinforced concrete with a thickness of up to 3.5 meter, these casemates and pillboxes were incredibly tough to destroy. Built to withstand shells and bombs, they provided shelter to troops and civilians alike. But there were also some even larger super-structures. From giant U-Boat shelters and fearsome Flak-Towers, to the ultimate Führerbunker, the Germans perfected the art of bunker building. • Join us on Patreon: https://bit.ly/HARDWARE_022_DE • Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ • Check out our TimeGhost History YouTube channel:    / timeghost   • Between 2 Wars:    • Between 2 Wars   • Follow WW2 Day by Day on Instagram: @ww2_day_by_day • Follow TimeGhost History on Instagram: @timeghosthistory • Like us on Facebook:   / timeghosthistory   • Hosted by: Indy Neidell • Director: Astrid Deinhard • Producers: Astrid Deinhard and Spartacus Olsson • Executive Producers: Astrid Deinhard, Indy Neidell, Spartacus Olsson • Creative Producer: Marek Kamiński • Community Management: Ian Sowden • Written by: Markus Linke • Research by: Markus Linke, Indy Neidell • Map animations by: Daniel Weiss • Map research by: Sietse Kenter • Edited by: Karolina Dołęga • Artwork and color grading by: Mikołaj Uchman • Sound design by: Marek Kamiński • Colorizations by: • Mikołaj Uchman • Source literature list: http://bit.ly/WW2sources • Archive footage: Screenocean/Reuters - https://www.screenocean.com • Image sources: • National Archives NARA • Bundesarchiv • Fortepan: 55772 • Wolfsschanze model courtesy of Marek and Ewa Wojciechowscy + link wiki.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi... • Reichskanzlei-Vorbunker Dennis Nilsson https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi... • Reichskanzlei-Fuehrerbunker courtesy of Dna-Dennis https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi... • The icons from the Noun Project: Arrow by SANB, Bunker by IcoLabs, Concrete by Leif Michelsen, Wall by Bakunetsu Kaito, Wall Construction by Brickclay • Soundtracks from Epidemic Sound: • Break Free - Fabien Tell • Dark Beginning - Johan Hynynen • London - Howard Harper-Barnes • Orcas - Marten Moses • Rememberance - Fabien Tell • The Inspector 4 - Johannes Bornlöf • Weapon of Choice - Fabien Tell • A TimeGhost chronological documentary produced by OnLion Entertainment GmbH.
