Debunking the exploding block cinder block myth with a rocket stove

Farm Girl and Exoman debunking the myth of exploding cinder block. The couple cooks with and demonstrates the use and assembly of rocket stoves. This rocket stove has been used many times but the blocks aren't even cracked. So what the truth about these explosions? Do blocks that are not rated for fire explode when you heat them up? Well anything is possible, but as a rule cinder blocks may crack when exposed to fire but although there are stories of exploding cinder blocks, as of the filming of this video, we were unable to find a single video as proof. We are however able to find and produce our own video of cinder blocks in fire and set fire with gasoline that didn't even crack in the extreme heat. But again be cautious because there are reports of exploding blocks which is said to occur mostly when blocks are damp or wet and exposed to intense heat. It is said that in these conditions that the gases are unable to escape from the block quickly enough and when pressure build it causes the block to burst. The report of pieces of block launching into the stratosphere are doubtful however. • It's hard to imagine that regulatory agencies would continue to allow the use of cinder blocks in construction if there was such a risk. Imagine firemen trying to extinguish a fire in a block building with blocks bursting and flying at them . • Exoman postulates his theory that the fire used in a rocket stove is too small to heat even a wet block so quickly that damage is likely to occur. Over time these will age and degrade the block but without the drama of the aforementioned catastrophes. • Exoman soaked a damp block with gasoline, lit it and allowed it to burn for a long time. Eventually the fire burned out leaving a badly scorched but intact block. Farm Girl later threw a damp block in a camp fire for an hour or so, with the same result. • Awesome new rocket stove video.
