Clearcuts and Deer Habitat

############################# Video Source: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnacwkhglDA

In stands where deer pressure is high, clearcuts must be big, probably 150+ acres in order to grow new trees. Deer will gravitate toward a clearcut for the added forage and wipe out all regeneration of trees and shrubs. • After this was filmed in early spring, the ferns became belly deep. • I was able to get funding from NRCS to fence this area and spray the ferns. We sprayed ferns the summer after this video. It will be fenced in spring and we will do some planting • Check out the next year's videos on this site showing the spray job and the fence installation. And subscribe so you can get updates on how this area responds to treatment.
