🏋️‍♀️The assisted reverse Nordic curl is a great exercise for training the rectus femoris. This muscle is one of your quadriceps and the only one of the four that crosses the hip as well as the knee. • 💪Because of this, movements that straighten the knee whilst the hip is flexed don't create enough mechanical tension in the rectus femoris to train it effectively. For it to contract effectively, we need to keep our hips fixed in extension at the same time as we are straightening the knee under load, which is exactly what is happening in the reverse Nordic curl. • 🔥The full bodyweight version requires a lot of strength and flexibility so try the assisted version with a cable machine or a resistance band to build up to it. • #fitness #workout #health
