The Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, located in Sussex County, NJ and Orange County, NY, is a 9 mile tract of land encompassing 5100 acres of the Wallkill River. Established in 1990 and managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, its primary focus is for the conservation of wetlands, which includes habitat for migratory birds and the endangered bog turtle. It is an excellent place for bird watching, photography, hiking, canoeing, and cross country skiing. In this episode we see ducks, Canadian geese, some turkey vultures and sand hill cranes. • For more information please visit this website: • https://www.fws.gov/refuge/wallkill-r...
