Brimhaven 99 Agility from obstacles 50k tickets

This video is a sample of the work I've put into Brimhaven Agility Arena during the first half of 2010. I'm the first, and so far only one, to do 1-99 Agility from just obstacles at Brimhaven while collecting tickets, adding in my usual weekly Circus visits as well. I spent no time at any other courses, nor did I trade in any of my tickets for Xp during my training for 99, making this the longest and hardest 99 Agility ever accomplished, doing about 800 hours of constant clicking. Most of my progress was done at 18k Xp/hr in the higher levels, maxing at around 19k Xp/hr around 99. I also did not use Karamja Gloves 2. I spent around 25m in total supplies, where my typical inventory was usually 230gp(replaced by tickets after I entered), 20 summer pies, 6 prayer potion(4)'s(for Rapid Heal), and a stack of Ardougne Teletabs. You still fail and get damaged from certain obstacles at 99. I merched up around 40m on this account as well, some of which was not used. • This video shows some of my training methods, as well as my 99 Agility from obstacles at Brimhaven party and my final ticket count of 50k(exactly 16m Xp stored). I used all of them on August 12th, where I proceeded to set a 2m day and 10m week record at the Advanced Barb course in addition to the tickets. These are visible on Runetracker. • Early on, it was unreasonable to even attempt getting tickets. I started out repeating the planks at 6xp per repeat of 9 ticks each and a 0 failure chance. This calcs out to about 4k Xp/hr. As I got higher, I moved to the Low Wall which gives a little bit more Xp/hr. It is nearly impossible to get any tickets below level 20 as routes are limited and falling occurs often. Upon reaching level 20, I had only 3 tickets. I spent my first 800 tickets at level 52 on a Pirate's hook to start merching with for supplies, and then started over at 0 again. I then started to collect straight to 50k without spending again. It was around level 50 that most of the method became pretty easy to maintain without missing tickets. • At 99 without Karamja Gloves 2, it is possible to get a 1:1 ratio of obstacle to ticket Xp while maximising Xp/hr. With the gloves(which I didn't have for this), it is possible to get more Xp in obstacles than in tickets. With Karamja Gloves 4, the ratio rebalances itself at 1:1. The general strategy to this arena is to never waste time. Almost everybody here focuses on getting the ticket and then waits for the next one, assuming that they made it. The real focus should be on repeating the pressure pads and the floor spikes, which can give more Xp/hr than the tickets alone could. In fact, with Karamja Gloves 2+ and 99 Agility, one could potentially repeat just the Pressure Pads while not grabbing a single ticket and get a steady 39k Xp/hr. The gloves not only add 10% to the Xp, but also allow you to do the pads in only 4 ticks instead of the usual 5 ticks. Without the gloves, I could average about 28k Xp/hr at 99 between the pads and the spikes. • The idea for the tickets is that they're bonus Xp. You sacrifice some obstacle Xp/hr to get more Xp in tickets. Every time you grab a ticket, you must justify the loss of potential obstacle Xp with the Xp you'd get from the tickets. When you have figured out all the best routes and tricks that give the best Xp over the time lost to grab the ticket, there really isn't any reason not to grab the ticket except in one possible instance when you have the gloves and must go from corner to corner. Each ticket changes every 99 ticks, resulting in about 60 tickets/hr. Combining ticket and obstacle Xp/hr gives me around an average of 38k-39k Xp/hr at 99. Since the Xp/hr will vary somewhat depending upon how close each ticket is to one another, it is possible to hit 40k Xp/hr without gloves sometimes. With the elite diary gloves, I estimate the max Xp/hr that could be gained here to be 50k-55k Xp/hr. • There are about 150 routes to learn here for each obstacle repeat to the dispenser. I personally believe I've figured out all the best ones that give the most Xp in the time lost getting the tickets. There are also numerous tricks located throughout the Arena that can help you cover ground faster. I'll need a pretty big guide to explain everything about Brimhaven, so you'll all have to wait longer for that.
