SpiderMan 2002 Cafeteria Scene 35MM ReMatte

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002) was shot in an open matte of 1.14:1. This version obviously contains stuff not meant to be seen in the theatrical version but still contains more image than the official Blu-ray's 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Whilst a full open matte version would be incorrect, there is something in between that would be more acceptable. The VFX shots were finished in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio and any blemishes meant to be hidden by the 1.85 crop are not present in a 1.66:1 crop. Whilst it's not the FULL picture, it is clearly the INTENDED picture. As a certified graphic designer I can say with surety that Spider-Man was meant to be seen in 1.66:1 but was cropped to a more cinematic 1.85:1. Just an idea of what could have been. • Based on Enigmo's 4k scan: •    • Spider-Man (2002) - 35mm Open Matte 4K   • This video is protected by fair use as its presence is both to inform and educate on the film's aspect ratio as well as commentate on the aspect ratio and the prospect of an open matte version.
