We used to catch them using a seine, but that can be quite a bit of work, and it requires that you actually get into the water and wade. There is an easier way that doesn't require you to get your feet wet at all. • I revisited a fishing hole that holds a lot of memories for me. My dad and my brother and I used to seine bait there as well as fish when I was a kid. When we seined bait, sometimes we would catch Hellgrammites with the seine. Being kids that liked to explore and flip rocks to see what was under them, my brother and I discovered that Hellgrammites like to sometimes hide under rocks. When they aren't in the water, Hellgrammites can be very easy to catch.
