Students at the J.W. Ruby Research Farm in Reedsville, WV, are head-over hooves for their new foal, Spice. Appropriately named after her mother, Punkin, Spice was part of a Broodmare Management and Foal Care independent study. The study is offered every few years and allows students within the equine program to get real-life hands-on experience with a pregnant mare from pregnancy to birth. • Learn more: • https://horses.wvu.edu/
