This novel was adapted into a mini-series presented on American television in 1988. The original furniture and interior was moved from the Platterhof Hotel where they were kept by US forces at the time. It was completed in the summer of 1938, prior to its formal presentation to Hitler on his 50th birthday on April 20, 1939.
