Cooked till tender before adding on some pineapple chunks, then served with a side of rice. • #PorkBellyHamonado #porkhamonado #porkbelly #filipinorecipe • https://yummykitchentv.com/pork-belly... • INGREDIENTS: • 1 kilo pork belly slices (2 slabs) • 5 cloves garlic (chopped) • 1 large onion (chopped) • 1 ½ cup pineapple juice (unsweetened) • ⅓ cup soy sauce • Salt and pepper to taste • 2 to 3 cups water (adjust as needed) • 1 can pineapple slices (or chunks) • 2 tablespoons sugar (to taste) • 2 teaspoons oil (for sauteing) • Steps: • Make shallow criss-cross slits on the pork belly skin. Season with salt and pepper. Rub these all around before searing these in a pan, skin down. Flip and sear till all the sides look golden. Set aside. • In the same pan, add oil and saute garlic and onions. Add back the pork slabs, then pour in pineapple juice and soy sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes at medium heat. • Flip the pork to cook evenly. Add sugar to taste, with some water. Cook till tender, add more water as needed to avoid the bottom from burning. • Simmer for 45 – 60 minutes, flip occasionally until pork is tender. Baste the pork with the sauce, then add in pineapple slices or chunks. Simmer until the sauce has reduced. • Baste occasionally before serving.
