Armillaria bioluminescence with timelapses

All timelapse sequences (from 0:14 to 1:16) are accelerated 9000 times (1 second = 150 min) • All timelapses were filmed indoors • Time between cutting the wood and start of the timelapse was kept as short as possible • 0:12 : 19°C, 16.02.2020, wood from location2 • 0:23 : 25°C, 21.12.2018, wood from location1 • 0:40 : 20 °C, 22.02.2020, wood from location2 • 0:52 : 14°C,18.12.2018, wood from location1 • Armillaria is a fungus growing in decaying wood. It's mycelium, inside the wood, is bioluminescent. • As for my personal observations, I have never seen undamaged Armillaria wood glow. When I cut a piece of wood with Armillaria open, it is always dark at first, the bioluminescence is only starting after a few hours, reaches it's maximum about 8 to 24 hours after the wood has been cut and then decreases again. With an aye accustomed to darkness (which is more sensitive that the camera with the used settings) some bioluminescence is then still visible many days after the wood has been cut. • In the video, at 0:23, some bioluminescence is already visible at the start. But the side that is glowing had already been cut a few days ago for another timelapse.
