Today I'm reviewing my Autonomous ErgoChair Pro after 3 years of ownership. • Overview: • -$500 • -Cloth seat cushion • -Mesh back • -Fully adjustable height, arm rests, head rest, back rest, lumbar, seat silt, and more. • -Weighs 48 pounds, and is 29 x29 x48 at lowest height • -Very short warranty (only 2 years) • Pros: • -Affordable, priced more around IKEA/STAPLES as opposed to Herman-Miller or Steelcase • -Available in wide variety of colors • -Full range of adjustment to sit ergonomically • -Looks professional and pleasing to the eye (in my opinion) • -Very comfortable (in my opinion) • Cons: • -Chair is noisy and squeaks from seat/piston mechanism. Autonomous blames this on a high humidity environment drying up oil/lubrication on the chair • -Build quality is a bit sketchy. Parts feel 'loose' with lots of extra unwanted chair movement and chair noise • -Cloth seat is not durable • -Chair gets very dirty very quickly • -Casters used on chair are low quality. Often get tangled and stuck • -Arm rests are imprecise, uncomfortable, and feel hard • -Arm rest click intervals are so wide that chair never fits perfectly under my desk • -My left arm rest collapsed • -Gas lift is weak and failed within 2 years • -Chair sinks down • Customer Service: • -Responds quickly, with detailed diagrams and supplementary information • -They replaced my gas lift although it was impossible to replace • -Advised a replacement seat cushion costs $70 • -Autonomous had great customer service • Comfort: (Each category rated on scale of 1-10, 1 worst 10 best) • -GIVE - Lots of cushiness and give, not suitable for extra thick individuals. 7.5/10. • -SWEATINESS - Warmer than a mesh seat, but not offensively sweaty. 6/10. • -CRISS CROSS APPLESAUCE - You can sit criss/cross easily and comfortably. 8/10. • -BODY SUPPORT - I'm pretty lightweight, so take this with a grain of salt, but I feel very supported. 8/10. • -FATIGUE - I am in this chair 8-12 hours per day, and only experience mild upper body fatigue which can partly be blamed on my desk being too tall. 8/10. • OVERALL - 7.5/10. • Overall Recommendation: • -Full range of adjustment • -Massive upgrade over any gaming chair • -Disappointed in build quality • -Disappointed in very short warranty • -Overall I would this a 6/10.
