Spider Molting or Shedding Its Exoskeleton

I just happened to be walking by and noticed this spider hanging on the side of our garage. It was in the process of molting, so I set up my camera and caught what was left of it. A spider's outer skin is called an exoskeleton. In order for them to grow, they have to occasionally shed their exoskeleton. This process is called molting. Molting is pretty rare to see, even though it happens all the time in our yard. It is such a rare thing to see that I couldn't miss the opportunity to capture what I could of it.
