Distributor: Warner Bros. Home Video • Release date: April 21, 2020 • Happy 5th anniversary, Infinity Train! Though Cartoon Network will continue being forced to ignore you for as long as Discovery still has all traces of your existence erased from the channel’s history book, the cultural impact you’ve made on an entire generation of viewers will never be forgotten by those who got to actually experience all the deep emotional value (myself included). In honor of this glorious occasion (the first anniversary for the series that can be divided by 5), here’s a showcase of the DVD release of the season that started it all, starring the “Perennial Child” Tulip. • Infinity Train: Book 1 contains all ten 11-minute episodes from the first season of the critically acclaimed but criminally mistreated series (originally meant to be the only season, making the show a mini-series akin to Over the Garden Wall, had Cartoon Network not ordered two seasons at once). Thankfully, the series was treated to a very solid first home video release, as every episode sports an audio commentary track, and there are some nifty video-based supplements to accompany the aforementioned audio-based ones - including The Train Documentaries, a series of shorts taking place in between the events of Book 1 and Book 2 that Cartoon Network first released onto their YouTube channel and mobile app in October 2019, two months after Book 1 concluded. I can’t include the commentaries or Train Documentaries installments here due to copyright (though the latter can still be viewed officially on YouTube if you want to see those videos; here’s the link: • Infinity Train Documentaries ), but the remaining video supplements WILL be featured for your viewing pleasure. • Alright, enough dawdling: hop on board for the rundown of everything you will find in this overview of Infinity Train: Book 1 on DVD… • OPENING: • 1.) “The views expressed” disclaimer • 2.) Warner Bros. Home Entertainment logo (2017-present) • 3.) Main menu and Episode Selection screen • 4.) Start of program • CLOSING: • 1.) End of program • 2.) INTERPOL warning (the same one used for every Warner Bros. DVD since the very first one all the way back in 1997) (16x9 version) • 3.) Inside the Mix of the Season Finale (featurette) • 4.) Infinity Train Gallery (video-based slideshow of concept art and model sheets) • And that’s it! Make sure to subscribe to this channel if you’d like to see more awesome showcases of the menus and special features included on DVDs from my collection. And before you ask: yes, I do own Book 2 of Infinity Train on DVD as well. However, I’m holding off on covering it until that season’s OWN 5-year anniversary this upcoming January. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Fuck.
