Some numbers are just perfectly written, and this is one of them. • Originally composed by Kander Ebb for Kaye Ballard, 'Maybe this time' was later repurposed and woven into the story of Cabaret for the movie in 1972, starring Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles. • My first experience with Cabaret was at Studio54 in NYC, 2003, starring Susan Egan Adam Pascal, the Broadway revival production was heavily inspired by the Donmar revival in London, starring Jane Horrocks and Alan Cumming. • Here is my little, optimistic rendition.
